The Stables (Private)

"it's true you know it I just don't know how or why we were seperate" I say sitting down

I noticed tears coming out of my eyes even though I didn't want to weep. I wiped my eyes dry, but failed.

- Sorry, I sniffed. It's the shock. But I can't believe my parents never told me. And how this could happen.

I straightened up and looked at his amber-brown eyes, like mine. His hair had exactly the same shade of brown as mine. His nose was the perfect answer to mine.
It was as if I was looking in a mirror. I saw myself, but with short hair, a masculine body and lesser acne.

"I remember you a little bit, like that time at the beach in wales" I say smiling and standing up

Frowning, I looked up to him. We were exactly the same height, I noticed.
Beach... Wales... all those words were blurred in my mind.
But it was true.

I remember a little boy with brown wet hair playing with me in the sea.

- Zachary, right? I said.

So many Zachary's... I was about to date a Zachary and now I discovered a long-lost twin whose name was Zachary as well.

"yes Zachary, do you remember the kilravock castle we own?" I ask starting to have a flashback

- No, I shook my head. Do you remember the cottage we have in the Alps?

I adjusted absent-mindedly the stirrups so they had the length of my arm.
Then I bridled Katel and finally removed the head collar from her head.

- Et voilà ma grande, I whispered to her. Would you enjoy riding with me a bit? I nervously asked Zachary.

"I remember it and I would be honored" I tell her

- Well then, prepare your horse - what's its name?

I grabbed the black reins with my left hand and the saddle with my right one and lifted myself onto Katel's back. I passed one leg over her back and sat down on the saddle, feet in the stirrups, and waited for Zachary.

"traveler" I say and haul myself into the saddle

- Perfect name, for a horse like this one, I smirked and kicked Katel's side.

The great frisian mare started walking her calm but heavy pace, her hooves making a lot of noise on the ground.

- Where do you want to go riding? I asked him.

"any where" I say as I kicked traveled into a matching pace

- Okay, so let's just walk about the perimeter, I suggested.

I loved the feeling of Katel's muscles rolling under her coat and my legs. I stroked her soft and long mane before turning back to Zachary.

- How long have you been here? I asked him.

"about a week,"
I tell her I say looking at her
"how long have you?"

- Two years, I calmly said.

The sun was shining on us and the rays were like warm hands on my face. I felt myself blush again, because of the warmth, and smiled at Zach. Our hair was glistening with exactly the same color.
I took out my water bottle and drank a sip, then showed it to my twin.

- Would you like some ? I asked him.

"no thanks I brought my own" I say politely "so what are your powers?"

I shrug and put my water back.

- My powers? Hrmm....

My fingers slip on the tiny silver hourglass that's attached to my belt.

- I can slow down or quicken time. And I can sometimes see the possibilities of future. And yeah, I can see the Little Folk and speak to them.

"that's cool" I say now somewhat frightened
"so do you fight?" I ask

I noticed a slight frightened tone in his voice.

- Oi, come one, I'm no monster! I said, teasing him. And yup, I fight. I have a friend who's a knight, you've perhaps met her, her name's Aalana. She's my height, with long copper hair, she's wearing tunics and great belts. And yeah, she can shoot arrows with her feet.

"no I don't think so" I say riding next to her

I led Katel to the Arena, looking inside it.

- I always loved the Arena, she told her twin. I find it amazing.

A clear copper line drew my eye and I recognized Aalana's long luxurious hair.

- Oh, there she is! I happily said. Aalana - see the girl over there with the red hair? It's her!

"nice she looks armed" I say smiling
Then I notice Seliana in trouble and I dismount

- Never underestimate Aalana, I smirked. She's half Corsican half Breton, so she has a ... firy temperament. She fights with three daggers and two bows. She's amazing, I whispered to myself.

But something was wrong. Aalana had suddenly taken her smaller dagger out and placing it under the chin of a... red-haired boy who -

Was this boy actually kissing a hooded figure?

- Zach, there's something wrong over there. Let's go seeing what this is.

I led Katel into the Arena.
